Supported chipset for Medmont E300 with leutron card
« on: January 28, 2017, 08:33:40 pm »
A few year ago I had to replace the mainboard of the computer connected to our Medmont E300. The first mainboard (MSI with Intel H87 chipset) had a PCI slot for the Leutron video grab PCI card, unfortunately the software Medmont Studio V5 didn't run. I replaced the mainboard fort an older one with Intel P55 chipset and it worked perfectly.

I assume the Leutron PicPort card doens;t work with all the Intel chipsets. Am I right?
Is it know with which chipsets the (drivers of the) Leutron PicPort card works?

Kind regrads,
Donald

Hi Donald,

The Leutron cards have not been produced for quite some time, so compatibility with newer chipsets may be hit and miss. Newer E300s use USB converter boxes, which can also be purchased and connected to older E300s via an adapter cable.

Hi Adam,

Thank you for your reply!

I was already "afraid" of a possible "compatibility issue with newer chipsets".

Since my E300 is in a perfect shape I will upgrade my current PC for now. An upgrade to a new one with USB box is planned in 2020 when Microsoft stops giving updates /patches of Windows 7.

Kind regards,
Donald
