- This feature is an enhancement of image registration feature introduced in version 4.8.2. It guides the user through the process of capturing images, streamlining the workflow.
- To be able to manage the workflow, the software requires that a pattern of images be defined, which matches a template on the camera itself. These patterns and templates are camera specific and will be supplied on request by Medmont. Patterns for Canon 20D cameras are included in the "Canon_Retinal_EOS_20D_Source-en.mxf" file on installation CD and are also available at Medmont website.
- Please consult the DV2000 online help or user manual for the details about how to create a mosaic of images.
A Feature Pack 1 license must be purchased and installed for this feature to work. User has full control over the layout of this thumbnail view via File->Capture Settings… dialog. Following the same paradigm as all the digital cameras, when an image is captured, user is presented with a review image. The view then changes back to the previous view after certain period of time. User can set the time of review or turn it off completely.

If it is installed as a new instrument on other machine its identity cannot be maintained across machines. However sometimes this requirement is ignored in practice. This caused failure to import exams from instruments, which already existed in the database but with a different identity. MS now ignores the new identity and keeps the existing data.

- New attributes: Focal point: x, y, z
- Location in space of the point at which an on-axis distant object is focused by the cornea (based on a circle of least confusion calculation)
- New graphical views
- Ray error: The deviation on the image plane between the focal point and a ray from an on-axis distant object refracted through the cornea
- Wavefront error: The difference in optical path length of a ray from an on-axis distant object refracted through the cornea and the principle ray (which passes through the centre of the cornea) to an ideal spherical wavefront inside the eye, divided by 550 nm (the assumed wavelength of the light-ray).
- Added Zernike analysis of height data and wavefront error
- The values of individual Zernike coefficients are available via the attributes mechanism
- New graphical views:
- Height: Zernike Fit: This is a decomposition of the height data in terms of the Zernike components

- The parameters for Zernike analysis are also accessed here
- In the contact lens designers the pupil — as well as any other attributes — now appears under the contact lens. This makes it unlikely that the clinician will inadvertently move the pupil when trying to move the contact lens.
- It is now possible to do an Analysis > Export … of all selected E300 exams. When more than one exam is exported the filename consists of a user-specified name plus the patient name, eye and date/time of the exam. Example: test_Citizen_John_Right_2005-31-08_13-27-36.dst

- Enhancement – Where a system may be connected to different perimeters, ensuring no perimeters are selected will automatically show the selection dialog when the test window is started.
- Enhancement – The Hill of Vision (HoV) computations now extend to the 50-degree ring. This means valid HoV data is available for tests such as the Peripheral test.
- Enhancement – Setting the Lens value for a test is now more versatile. The new rules are modified by the Age-Based Lens (ABL) setting in the test window Options menu.
- With ABL off, the lens settings are zero when the test window starts.

- Whatever values are used during the test are saved with the test.
- NOTES:
- With ABL on, the lens settings will reflect the algebraic sum of the patient’s refraction and the ABL offset. Switching between eyes will reflect these settings. On returning to an eye for which lens settings may have been previously edited, the settings will be arbitrarily reset to the patient’s refraction plus any ABL.
