Version 4.11.0

Medmont Studio

  • New Feature - Added feature to allow email results as images directly from Medmont Studio. The required files are located in the Imports\Studio\Links\ directory on the Medmont Studio CD. They are also available for download from Medmont International website as a .zip file. Please carefully read the DISCLAIMER in the user instructions for this utility. Data exchange over networks is inherently insecure and liable to eavesdropping. For any issues arising in case of breach of privacy Medmont International Pty Ltd cannot be held liable.

These patterns and templates are camera specific and will be supplied on request by Medmont. Patterns for Canon 20D cameras are included in the "Canon_Retinal_EOS_20D_Source-en.mxf" file on installation CD and are also available at Medmont website.
    • Please consult the DV2000 online help or user manual for the details about how to create a mosaic of images.
A Feature Pack 1 license must be purchased and installed for this feature to work. Please contact Medmont or one of its authorized distributors to purchase this license.

  • Large/Text Toolbar options worked but were not persistent between sessions.
  • Some of the menu items got disabled if an image setting was applied.
M700
  • Connecting to an M700 with an incorrect serial number now displays this fact rather than an "unable to connect" message.

    • With ABL off, the lens settings are zero when the test window starts.
    • An additional button has been added in the test Lens dialog called Refraction that will copy the patient’s refraction to the test.
    • With ABL on, the lens settings on entry are the algebraic sum of the patient’s refraction and the ABL setting (current behaviour).
    • Any non-zero lens value will bring up the lens prompt before the test can start unless Auto-Prompt is unchecked.
    • Whatever values are used during the test are saved with the test.
    • NOTES:
      • With ABL on, the lens settings will reflect the algebraic sum of the patient’s refraction and the ABL offset. Switching between eyes will reflect these settings. On returning to an eye for which lens settings may have been previously edited, the settings will be arbitrarily reset to the patient’s refraction plus any ABL.
      • With ABL off, any local changes made in the Lens dialog are preserved when switching between eyes.
      • The ABL settings per age group are: 0-30: 0, 31-40: 1.0, 41-45: 1.5, 46-50: 2.0, 51-55: 2.5, 56-60: 3.0, 61+: 3.25.

E300
  • New Feature - Added contact lens designs by RoseK. The program adds RoseK and Graft RoseK designs.
  • Enhancement  – The correct procedure for physically transferring an E300 instrument from one computer to another is to also export/import it in the software. If it is installed as a new instrument on other machine its identity cannot be maintained across machines. However sometimes this requirement is ignored in practice. This caused failure to import exams from instruments, which already existed in the database but with a different identity. MS now ignores the new identity and keeps the existing data.
  • Attempt to type a value into the radius box of Elevation Settings dialog caused a continuous loop.
DV2000
  • New Feature – Image Registration Feature added.

Version 4.4.0

Medmont Studio
  • Added option to sort patient’s exams in reverse chronological order:
    • Recent first checkbox next to the sort button in the Explorer Tree
  • Added new Options > Preferences… item
    • Patient names > Always display the ExternalID
  • Attributes
    • Added separate Display Name for greater flexibility in naming attributes
    • Code Blocks and Calculated Attributes now have their own separate forms for editing
  • Practice Management Integration
    • When running in network (server/client) configuration, the server now releases its connection to the external database when no sessions of Medmont Studio are running.  [This is handy for automated nightly back-ups:  Previously it was necessary to manually stop the server.
M700
  • Added two-per-page option to Multiprint reports
E300
  • Added new contact lens designers:
    • Con-Lens
    • CooperVision
    • Eycon Lens Laboratories
    • No 7 Contact Lens Laboratory
  • Added ray-tracing based analysis of the height data:
    • New attributes: Focal point: x, y, z
      • Location in space of the point at which an on-axis distant object is focused by the cornea (based on a circle of least confusion calculation)
    • New graphical views
      • Ray error: The deviation on the image plane between the focal point and a ray from an on-axis distant object refracted through the cornea
      • Wavefront error: The difference in optical path length of a ray from an on-axis distant object refracted through the cornea and the principle ray (which passes through the centre of the cornea) to an ideal spherical wavefront inside the eye, divided by 550 nm (the assumed wavelength of the light-ray).
  • Added Zernike analysis of height data and wavefront error
    • The values of individual Zernike coefficients are available via the attributes mechanism
    • New graphical views:
      • Height: Zernike Fit: This is a decomposition of the height data in terms of the Zernike components
      • Height: Zernike Residual: This measures the error in fitting the height using Zernike functions (it should be small)
        • Residual = Zernike Height (all components) – Height
      • Wavefront Error: Zernike Fit: This is a decomposition of the wavefront error data in terms of the Zernike components
    • With both of the Zernike fits the clinician may filter out particular modes by selecting Image > Settings … and then clicking the “Settings…” button
  • Added Tools > E300 System Settings …
    • These settings apply to all users on the system
    • The half chord at which eccentricity and various shape factors are measured is now specified here (formerly found under Tools >Attributes)
    • The parameters for Zernike analysis are also accessed here
  • In the contact lens designers the pupil — as well as any other attributes — now appears under the contact lens.  This makes it unlikely that the clinician will inadvertently move the pupil when trying to move the contact lens.
  • It is now possible to do an Analysis > Export … of all selected E300 exams.  When more than one exam is exported the filename consists of a user-specified name plus the patient name, eye and date/time of the exam.  Example: test_Citizen_John_Right_2005-31-08_13-27-36.dst
